Karmaveer Hire Arts, Science, Commerce and Education College Gargoti established in 1952. Initially it was named as ‘Karmveer Hire Gram Bharati’. After establishment it was directly affiliated to National Council for Higher Education. The department of Social Work introduced from 1952 as DRS (Social Work). The main aim of introducing social work department was to prepare rural youths to understand their society and social problems with the help of professional social work education.
In the course of time the college went some revolutionary changes. In 1975-76 the college affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Our department had provided very expert personalities and social workers to society up to this date. It has always stood as a center of Rural and Cultural Development in this area and achieved a tremendous popularity of students in the community.

• To maintain the excellence in teaching, learning, practicing and extension activities in social work.

• To prepare social work students to identify their own strengths and capabilities.
• To prepare students to understand the social issues and also identify the remedies to overcome that issues.
• To enable students to achieve good opportunities in social work field.
